At
the RAI Commercial Vehicle Show, held in Amsterdam from 14 to
22 October, DAF Trucks will present the new XF105. This new
top model, which is an extension to the DAF range, features
a restyled exterior, an entirely new interior design, a new
chassis lay-out and the new 12.9 liter PACCAR MX engine, available
in both Euro 4 and Euro 5 specifications.
DAF’s XF105, entering production in the first quarter of 2006,
will set new standards in terms of quality, efficiency and transport
performance as well as in interior design, comfort, ergonomics
and drivability.
Modern
design, optically upgraded interior, new chassis for even higher
payloads, electronically regulated disk brakes, longer service
intervals, and new engine with even more favourable fuel consumption
values. Result: lower operating costs for carriers, and even
more comfort for the driver. That is the DAF XF.
The introduction of the DAF 95XF in 1997 ushered in a new era.
Low operating costs, higher reliability, and the highest level
of comfort possible for the driver were the central development
criteria and the basis for the success of this new vehicle series.
The DAF 95XF set new standards for international long-distance
freight traffic and became a best-seller; popular with carriers
and drivers alike.
Technology is subject to constant change. So are the desires
and requirements of the transport industry. Just five years
later DAF introduced the new XF at IAA 2002. Even more comfortable
and more profitable than its predecessor. With modern styling
that corresponds to that of the new CF and LF Series. With an
interior that offers even more comfort and unequalled spaciousness.
With a new chassis that enables an even higher payload. With
a new drive train for top performance at a lower rate of fuel
consumption. And with a variety of technical innovations that
ensure even greater reliability and lower costs. Kilometre for
kilometre, mile for mile.
That is what we understand under Evolution of the XF technology.
The DAF XF.
The
DAF CF is the ideal vehicle for medium-distance and long-distance
freight transport. In the 18-ton total weight class to 40-ton
towing weight class and more, the CF 65, CF 75, and CF 85 series
set new standards in terms of ride characteristics, comfort,
and efficiency.
The 5.9 liter PACCAR engine of the CF65 is offered in several
power stages to 184 kW (250 HP); the power spectrum of the 9.2
liter DAF engine in the CF75 extends to 265 kW (300) and the
12.6-liter DAF engine of the CF85 is available in different
power variants to 355 kW (485 HP). The CF program includes 4x2,
6x2, 6x4, 8x2, and 8x4 axle configurations as well as three
different driver's cabs: Local traffic cab, long-distance cab,
and the roomy "Space Cab" variants.
Awarded
"Truck of the year 2002", the DAF LF is the ideal
vehicle for municipal and regional delivery traffic. Trucks
in this class are used for widely varying tasks. This requires
a broad spectrum of vehicles. This is why the DAF LF 45 Series,
(6 to 13 tons total weight) and the LF 55 Series (13 to 18 tons)
offer numerous wheelbases, payloads, and engine variants from
which to choose.
In addition, the LF can be delivered with local traffic cabs or long-distance cabs. The performance spectrum of the PACCAR engines implemented in the DAF LF series ranges from 110kW/150 HP to 184 kW/250 HP.
